The Kinship Endowment Fund

The purpose of the Kinship Endowment Fund is to provide financial support for the program, projects and activities associated with the mission of the mentoring program serving the Park Rapids Area. In an endowment, all gifts are permanently retained as principle with only a portion of the earnings each year used to support Kinship. This contributes to Kinship’s annual operating revenue.

The Kinship Endowment Fund is administered as part of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation (NMF), a regional community foundation. Kinship and NMF are 501©3 charitable non-profit organizations and all gifts to the Kinship Endowment Fund are deductible to the extent allowed by law.

By making a significant gift to the Kinship Endowment Fund, you will:

  • Help children stay in school, out of trouble and off drugs.
  • Provide a permanent revenue stream to fund ongoing recruitment, screening and support of mentors to befriend children in need.
  • Provide long-term stability for local mentoring services which positively impact our community – one child and one family at a time.
  • Reduce needs for social services – both near-term costs of counseling and long-term costs of public assistance.
  • Help a great bunch of children who face a variety of challenges develop the confidence and skills to face those challenges with greater strength and maturity as young adults.
