Kinship, Inc. is a private, nonprofit organization which believes in and promotes the concept of youth mentoring.

 

The Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota - MPM formed in 1994 as a community initiative to promote mentoring for Minnesota youth.

 

A Years Worth of Mentoring Activities - Check out this list of activities that you can do with your mentee throughout the year from Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota.

 

Learn to Mentor - This online course is offered to help prepare you to be an e-mentor, but is valuable for all mentors. It includes:

 

Topics ranging from "What is Mentoring" to "Your Role as Mentor", "The Lifecycle of a Mentoring Relationship," and "How to End Your Relationship"

  • A downloadable "Learn to E-Mentor Workbook" that includes exercises and tools you can use personally and share with your mentee
  • A "Self Check Quiz" to try out your new skills at the conclusion of the training

MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnership - MENTOR gives a global look on mentoring resources. On this site you can find the latest research on mentoring theory, practice and programs, national statistics on youth mentoring, media outreach, and public policy legislation and efforts.

 

Tools for Mentoring Adolescents were developed by MPM in collaboration with the Search Institute to support and strengthen relationships between mentors and mentees.

 

MPM K-12 Journey Map - This online tool is Minnesota's first interactive outline mapping major milestones for youth as they prepare for post-secondary education. The map included links to resources that support the milestones, from taking a career interest finder to finding ways to pay for college.

 

Park Rapids Lakes Area Arts Council (PRLAAC) creates excellence in the arts through creation, education, and performance. Check out upcoming events and scholarship opportunities.

 

Healthy Brains for Children - to increase the awareness of the devastation of prenatal exposure to alcohol and to promote the healthy practice of refraining from drinking alcohol during and immediately after each pregnancy.

 

The Kinship Endowment Fund is administered as part of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, a regional community foundation.  

 

Kinship of the Park Rapids Area serves children and youth living in southern Hubbard County, including Park Rapids, Nevis, and Osage.
